God ? A Tribute to an Old Friend

I got word a few days ago an old friend of mine lost his life to the treatment of cancer, not cancer itself.  I got to visit with him a few weeks ago .  It was hard not to show my surprise at his 80 lb weight loss.  Don was good man.  He did many things for his fellow man.  We spoke by phone not too long before he passed.  He said he had no regrets and was ready to move into his heavenly home.  Although raised Baptist, he never attended church very much.  He believed we should all just live what we believe.  He did this….every day.   It mattered not to him how we were to read the bible.  He didn’t care to look for a more accurate meaning using the Greek or Hebrew.  He knew what it meant to be good and to care about others.  This was enough for him.  Shouldn’t it be enough for us ?

  1. Ken, my deepest condolences. I’m sorry for your loss. What a beautiful tribute to your friend.

  2. Thank you Victoria. It just shows how fragile life is. We need to live it to its fullest.

Hey KansasCity, In a world where everyone is trying to get it right. I think it is beautiful that your friend Don did just that. I am sorry he is gone. I would have liked to have met him.

  4. Thank you Hayden ! He was a really great guy .

  5. Just checking in Ken, to see that everything is okay – you are very quiet.

    • Ark, he’s not that quiet. You just don’t hang where the action is. 😉

      • You mean with the Kathy Show?

        • We’ve had some great conversation, some good laughs and exchanges of interesting and educational information without Kathy’s presence. Just because you don’t like one kind of beer being served doesn’t me you should avoid the pub.

      • Hi Victoria !

Like I told Senor Ark, I have been out of town a lot lately and just returned from a Caribbean Cruise. I will be back in full swing next week.

Thank you for thinking of me ! 🙂

    • Hi Ark !

I am honored that you thought about me ! 🙂

I have been out of town a lot lately and just returned from a 1 week Caribbean Cruise. I will be back in full swing next week. Look out ! 🙂

      • Of course I thought about you, Ken. Don’t you owe me money? 🙂
