Miracles Part II

“You are conflating the inability to write some message in the sky, with the decision not to do so. You might feel that God has utterly failed to do enough to convince you of His own existence, because He didn’t erect a large enough billboard with own hand-writing on it.”

Where would Christianity be today if Jesus hadn’t revealed himself to his disciples and others after his resurrection ?  Thomas didn’t believe the other disciples when they told him they saw Jesus after his death.  He demanded proof and Jesus obliged .  Jesus let Thomas place his finger in his hands and in his side.

Why are non-believers ridiculed today for not having enough faith to believe in the divinity of Jesus, when his own disciples wouldn’t have believed in it either without proof ?

What would it take for you to believe Jesus was / is divine ?    Or would it even matter ?

The Bible likes using analogies .  Referring to God as abba / father.  Telling us how much he loves us and cares for us more than a sparrow.

What father would tell his children if they didn’t worship him, he would make them suffer for eternity ?

I would think these would be questions believers would struggle with.  I did .

  1. It really is astonishing that it has lasted this long. Not letting anyone actually read the bible certainly helped, but such blaring logical problems will see its continued demise. Thankfully.

    • Ah yes, the old pulpit bibles which were chained to the pulpit so commoners couldn’t take them home to read.

And the early church fathers who continually wrote , “you could not achieve salvation outside the church”.

      • I was actually thinking about having it in Latin. When I first visited Auronzo, a small town in northern Italy, the priest there still conducted mass facing away from from the pews. It was so odd, so alienating.
