It’s what God wanted

After Clemson’s victory over Alabama tonight, their quarterback Deshaun Watson was asked what he was thinking and he said, “It’s what God wanted”.  Their head coach Dabo Swinney also confirmed it was God.

Forget the 24,000 children in the world who die every day, God took time out of his busy schedule and helped Clemson win a football game………

  1. Good on God!

    • Actually, concerning this, I have an anecdote here which contrasts religion in Australia with the US. I played rugby at school (and at uni), was a loose forward so really didn’t get many chances to score a try. In one game, though, I scored two and was so thrilled, and cheeky, I jokingly shouted to some of my mates on the sideline “It`s God’s will!!”

      That’s it.

Monday morning came around and I was called into “the office.” Now, this wasn’t unusual, I spent a lot of time in “the office,” but couldn’t for the life of me think of what I’d done this time to warrant a summoning. Inside, the owner of “the office,” who was also our coach, sat me down and explained that what I said on the field on Saturday was dead wrong and offensive. What’s more, an official complaint had been lodged by the other school. Long story short, I had to formally apologise and explain that I was only joking, and as far as jokes went it was in bad taste.
