I was writing a post yesterday and thought I had saved it as a draft but Carmen emailed to let me know it went out as an empty post. Sorry about that ! I was going to share what I heard on the BBC this past week. The story took place in India where some Hindu’s got very upset with a Muslim for eating meat from a Cow and decided to kill him. It wasn’t the poor Muslim’s fault. His religion forbids him to eat pork and shellfish and Jews are in the same boat as the Muslim.
Maybe they should all become Christians as all food is fair game (pardon the pun). Just look at many of the TV Evangelists to see that gluttony “is the way” to display God’s Favor. 🙂

Yup, kc, the Christian diet is to be envied, for sure. Just think on that for one moment. Being killed for one thing you ate. I’ve also heard that – for whatever reason – Coke is kosher. Just think on that one for another minute. . .. sometimes a person just has to shake their head. 😦

Well, most Jews in the U. S., about 57% already eat pork. (see this article). So no conversion needed.

I would like to see all humans have the freedom of eating what they want without any religious influence. Education for making healthy choices is always welcome.

I do think there are some who would argue you can reconcile a literary reading with a fundamentalist innerant views. One such person I believe is Leland Ryken. Basically they would argue one should understand the Bible via literary critical methods as to properly understand it in order to interpret God’s Word correctly and accurately.

I’m doing very well Ark ! Thank you so much for your concern. I have been very busy this year rehabbing a house that I moved in to this week. Then I left Sunny Florida Wednesday to fly up to Chilly Illinois for the Holidays. Wishing you and all of my Blog Family much happiness during this time.
